Trilogue agreement on eDeclaration simplifies day-to-day business

On 23 June a trilogue agreement was reached on the eDeclaration as a standardised EU-wide electronic posting portal. Holger Schwannecke, Secretary-General of the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts and Small Businesses (ZDH), states:
Holger Schwannecke

"The eDeclaration is a response to the specific problems faced by craft businesses when providing services within the single market. The trilogue agreement reached on Tuesday on the introduction of the eDeclaration sends a positive signal to craft businesses.

The fact that the European Parliament and the Member States were able to agree on a standardised list of information points is crucial: this means that uniform criteria for the posting of workers now apply across the EU. Consequently, the added value of the eDeclaration increases as more Member States take part.

In the past, filling in extensive posting forms has often taken companies considerably more time than actually providing the service. The eDeclaration, which has now been adopted, is driving forward the much-needed reduction in unnecessary red tape. Linking the A1 certificate to the eDeclaration would be a further step in this direction, which should be taken in the near future."
