Better Regulation

ZDH has set itself the goal of achieving further improvements in European legislation and identifying areas in which unnecessary bureaucracy should be reduced.

In 2015, the EU Commission adopted its Better Regulation Agenda which places increased emphasis on transparency and stakeholder involvement throughout the legislative process as well as on an evidence-based approach. It covers all policy areas and aims to ensure that European regulation does not go beyond what is required and that the desired objectives are achieved with as little bureaucracy as possible. For more information please visit the EU Commission’s website on better regulation.

The better regulation guidelines and toolbox, inter alia, contain a compulsory SME test based on the "Think Small First" principle. Nevertheless, SMEs still perceive the European Union as an over-regulator and European laws as too bureaucratic. ZDH has therefore set itself the goal of achieving further improvements in European legislation and identifying areas in which unnecessary bureaucracy should be reduced.
